Hartington man’s case forwarded to district court

Posted in:

HARTINGTON — A Hartington man had four felony charges bound over to district court after he waived a preliminary hearing last week.

Brandon L. Meyers, 27, faces two counts of terroristic threats and two counts of committing child abuse intentional with no injury.

The charges stem from a June incident in which he allegedly pointed an Airsoft BB gun at two people who rode past his home and shot out the window of the vehicle. The victims indicated they mistook the gun for a real firearm, according to law enforcement records.

Arraignment is set in the case for Monday, Oct. 25, at which time he will be arraigned on the charges. If convicted, Meyers faces a maximum penalty of three years in prison. There is no minimum sentence.
