Hartington Dayz

Chamber planning special events for Aug. 13

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Chamber of Commerce is planning a big community celebration in August.

Hartington Chamber of Commerce President Karen Flamig said the Chamber has been working on a new community event — Hartington Dayz on Aug. 13

While planning is still not quite complete, several activities-including a golf tournament, sidewalk sales, a vendor market, community-wide garage sales, family and children's games and a street dance - are already planned for the day.

The street dance will feature Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Quazy. The Hartington-based band always draws a big crowd, wherever they play.

The Big Hair Brewhaus Monday was granted permission from the Hartington City Council to close a portion of Broadway Street for the street dance. The Council also granted the Brewhaus a special liquor license for the event. The street will be closed at Anderson Body Shop on the north, but it is not known yet exactly how far south the street dance will extend.

The Hartington Dayz four-person scramble will take place that day at a cost of $80 per team. The Chamber will be accepting flag prize donations for individual holes.

For registration for the tournament or more information, please contact Chamber Board member Brett Klug at 402-841-3662. For more information about the other Hartington Dayz events, contact Flamig at chamberpres@hartel.net.
