Casketbearers were Larry Dinkel, Dennis Haselhorst, Don Haselhorst, Tom Kruse, Gary Ramold, Rod Ronspies and Joe Schmit.

His family was blessed to have Gary in their lives as spouse, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. Gary worked hard farming his entire life, but he was doing what he loved with people that he loved. One of his greatest joys was farming with his two sons. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids.
He enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends and family and watching his grandkids play in his big backyard. He was described as a teaser and ornery and loved to joke around with his friends and family. He was a man of faith and taught his family to follow God and to gain wisdom from the Bible.
Gary was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Magnet to George and Astrid von Rentzell. When he was two months old, the family moved to the Newman’s farm lease, and in 1944, when Gary was one, the family moved to the farm on Highway 20, where George began farming in partnership with his father-in-law, Axel Swanson.
Gary started helping George and Axel with farm work when he was 6 years old, driving the tractor to pack silage. Gary went to a country school a mile from home until eighth grade and then went to high school in Randolph, where he graduated in 1960.
Gary was born without a hip socket and had surgery to create a hip socket using pieces of bone from his thigh when he was 18. After he recovered, he began farming with his father. Gary and George farmed in partnership for over 35 years.
Gary married Nancy Kear in 1964, and their marriage was blessed with four children. In 1993, Gary married Dianne Minogue and added two stepchildren to his family. Gary and his sons, Aaron and Jason, continued the legacy started by Axel and George, and farmed together until Gary’s passing. Gary was blessed to have spent 74 of his 75 years living and working the land originally purchased by his grandfather.
Gary is survived by his spouse, Dianne; his children and grandchildren who he shared with former spouse, Nancy, Kecia Christensen (spouse, Keith Christensen, and children, Melissa, Nate and Matt); Stephanie Daubert (spouse, Howard Daubert, and children, Cole and Kelsey); Aaron (spouse, Jenny, and children, Tyler, Connor and Ella); Jason (spouse, Lisa, and children, Kenzie, Tucker and Addison); stepchildren, Kimberly Adams (spouse, Glenn Adams, and child, Paige) and Nate Somes (spouse, Erin, and children, Zach and Alex); his sisters, Sharon (Vernon) Gubbels, Sheryl von Rentzell and Sharise (Sid) Engel; a brother-in-law, Robert Hocking and spouse, Billie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Gary is reunited in heaven with his beloved mother and father, grandparents, mother- and father-in-law and numerous aunts and uncles.
