Food Bank for the Heartland to host a distribution at Cedar County Courthouse

HARTINGTON — Food Bank for the Heartland is partnering with Farm Credit Services of America to host a free Mobile Pantry in Hartington, Nebraska on April 24, from 4-6 p.m., or until food runs out, at the Cedar County Courthouse in Hartington.

The one-day distribution will provide shelf-stable products, assorted fresh produce, and bread. Items will be placed directly into vehicles. Recipients are asked to stay in their vehicle with the trunk open. The mobile pantry is available to anyone living in Cedar County and the surrounding communities, and no identification is required to receive food. All attendees are asked to enter from HWY 84 and turn north into the parking lot.

Funding from FCSAmerica will allow employees to distribute enough perishable and shelf-stable food to serve 100 households.

According to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap study, approximately 7.4 percent of individuals in Cedar County are facing hunger.
