Flying in ...

Posted in:

The Fly-in Breakfast had a little different look this year. With masks worn by all the servers and a lot of social distancing, COVID-19 still couldn’t deter this breakfast crowd. There is nothing better than the smiles you see when the little ones spot the pancakes smothered in syrup and the sausage they plan to sneak from Mom’s plate. Theo Curry, grandson of Bette and Roger Merkel, grins from ear to ear as he anticipates biting into his pancakes, and Amanda Heimes licks any drops from her knife that may be trying to escape. The planes and the helicopter are still the favorite aspect of the fly-in for most, as they admire the rides of area pilots who flew in for a bite to eat and to enjoy the beautiful weather and a visit with old friends.
