Posted in:

Jordy Feilmeier

HARTINGTON - Jordy Feilmeier, daughter of Je and Taylor Feil - meier, Hartington, received a medal, certificate of completion, her final prize and a free book from the library for completing 1,000 books before Kindergarten. Jordy will attend Kindergarten the fall 2023 at Holy Trinity Grade School.

Jordy comes to the library along with her two sisters, Summer and Libby, to visit her great aunt, Tami. She likes picking out lots of books with her favorites being "Barbie: Hair is Amazing" and the "There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly." She also likes coming to Miss Kim's Storytime, and Music Monday and doing arts and crafts. Great job to mom and dad for instilling the love of the library, books and reading at a young age.

This program was launched to get children ready for school, and to encourage more parent/child library visits. Books are logged and prizes are awarded along the way. One of the best ways to encourage pre-reading skills is to spend time sharing books each and every day. Reading provides a solid foundation, a key to school and learning success.
