Expos pick up a pair of wins as post-season nears
WYNOT — The Wynot Expos improved to 8-6 on the year with a pair of wins last week.
Wynot topped Lesterville 16-9 Thursday night, then defeated Menno, 14-4, Friday.
Wynot jumped in front of Menno 1-0 in the first frame when Lee Heimes walked, then moved to second on a Kyle Wiepen single before coming home on a Jackson Sudbeck sacrifice.
Both teams found their offensive groove in the second, with Wynot outscoring Menno 6-2 in the frame to take a 7-2 lead.
Wynot then outscored the Mud Hens 3-2 in the fourth frame to take a 10-4 lead. Wynot ended the game with four more runs in the next two frame to make it 14-4.
Lee Heimes led the team at the plate with a 3-4 performance on the night. Jackson Sudbeck, Kyle Wiepen and Chase Rolfes all collected two hits in the contest. Rolfes and Ryan Heimes both scored three runs apiece in the contest.
