Eva Marie Ellis

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Eva Marie Ellis, 67, Sioux Center, Iowa, died Dec. 20, 2020, at Royale Meadows Care Center, Sioux Center, Iowa, after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s.

A Celebration of her life will be at a later date this spring.

Eva Marie Ellis was born Jan. 11, 1953, to Virgil and Ruth (Connors) Flaugh in Hartington. After going through grade school in Hartington, she went on to continue her education to become a licensed practical nurse in Yankton, S.D.

She married Dexter Ellis Feb. 18, 1989, in Sioux City, Iowa. They then moved to Sioux Center and welcomed their daughter. Eva loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking, fishing, and tending to the garden. She will be remembered for her tender, loving heart and her infectious smile.

Eva is survived by her husband, Dexter Ellis, Sioux Center, Iowa; daughter, Haley, and son-in-law, Kyle Freeborn, Colorado Springs, Colo.; her father, Virgil Flaugh, Hartington; her sister, Patty (Darrell) Doering, Conrad, Mont.; her brother, Rod (Deb) Flaugh, Hartington; and sister-in-law, Debbie Flaugh, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Flaugh, and brother, Doug Flaugh.
