Economic Development Coordinator resigns

HARTINGTON — The Hartigton City Council Monday accepted the resignation of long-time Hartington Economic Development Coordinator Carla Becker.

Becker has guided the Economic Development Corporation for nearly 20 years.

The Council voted unanimously to accept the letter of resignation without comment.

City leaders and the Economic Development Board have had several meetings in the past 45 days about Becker’s duties and responsibilities.

Hartington Mayor Mark Becker said Monday the Council will meet with Economic Development Board members to iron out a job description and determine if the job needs to be filled on a parttime or full-time basis.
