RANDOLPH — Funeral services for Earl B. Leiting, 75, Randolph, were Jan. 22 at St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, Randolph. Interment was at St. Frances Catholic Cemetery, rural Randolph. Casket bearers were Nolan Nordhues, Logan Nordhues, Blake Leiting, Carson Leiting, Madden Leiting and Dakota Leiting. Honorary casket bearers were Paul Leiting, Justin Bahr and Tommy Rohloff. Military rites were conducted by the V.F.W. Alvin Kessler Post #5545, American Legion Post #113, and the United States Army Honors Guard. Visitation and a Rosary were Sunday, also at St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, Randolph. Arrangements were under the direction of Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk.

Earl died Jan. 14, 2024, at his residence in rural Randolph, with family by his side.

Earl was born May 13, 1948, in Osmond, to Vernice and Velna (Gubbels) Leiting. Earl grew up on the family farm near Randolph. He attended grade school in Randolph and graduated from St. Frances High School, Randolph, in 1966. After high school, Earl served his country in the United States Army from Oct. 18, 1966 to Oct. 17, 1968.

After returning home from the military, Earl married LaDonna Marie Biernbaum, Oct. 11, 1969, at St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, Randolph. After married, the couple lived in Norfolk until 1983, when they moved to Randolph on the Leiting home place. Earl retired in 2016.

Earl loved spending time in his shed doing projects, keeping busy on the farm, spending time with his family, and attending the grandchildren’s events.

Survivors include wife LaDonna Leiting, Randolph; daughter, Tina (Darrin) Nordhues, Randolph; sons, Troy (Teresa) Leiting , Grand Island, and Travis (Leslie) Leiting, Seward; 10 grandchildren, Nolan Nordhues, Logan Nordhues, Carlie Nordhues, Blake Leiting, Carson Leiting, Madden Leiting, Savannaha Leiting, Dakota Leiting, Reese Leiting and Willow Leiting; sister, Sharon (Tony) Almarez, Evans, Colo.; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-inlaw, nieces and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents Vernice and Velna; mother-inlaw, Rita Kessler; brothers-in-law, Galen Biernbaum and Keith Biernbaum; and sisters-in-law, Carla Jean Schmitt and Arlis Wattier.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Lied Randolph Public Library or St. Jane Frances Catholic Church.
