HARTINGTON — Donna M. Heimes, 59, Hartington, died, June 13, 2018, at her residence.
Visitation and a Vigil Service were Sunday, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and continued Monday, one hour prior to services.
Mass of Christian Burial was June 18 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Jim Keiter and Rev. Eric Olsen officiating.
Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Bill Heimes, Dean Folkers, Scott Loecker, Craig Rupiper, Chad Burbach, Bryan Thoene, Bob Heimes, Ryan Folkers, Jeff Loecker, Ron Loecker, Robb Burbach and Nathan Arens.
Honorary Pallbearers were Donna’s nieces, Angie Folkers Luther, Janell Heimes Wortmann, Jane Heimes Sayler, Mary Heimes, Ashley Heimes, Leslie Rupiper Morrow, Carmen Burbach Strecker, Teresa Arens Eckmann, Mandy Arens Clark and Brenda Thoene; and special friend, Sharon Larson.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Donna Marie Heimes was born Jan. 12, 1959, in Crofton, to Damian and Helen (Pavelka) Arens. She attended school in Bow Valley and Wynot. She married Daniel A. Heimes July 31, 1977, in Bow Valley. Donna and Danny farmed side-by-side and raised their children. Donna worked outside the home at Dale Electronics, Golden Living Center, Pine Dale Assisted Living, Pizza Hut and Hartington Telemarketing, until she was disabled in 2007.
Donna enjoyed working on her flowers and gardening in her raised flower beds, playing cards, watching birds, camping, going for a drive and spending time with family.
Donna is survived by her husband Danny, Hartington; three children, Jennifer (Tom) Kobza, Billings, Mont.; Jessica (Matt) Peddie, Shawnee, Kan.; Jonathan Heimes (Tyler Olsen), Yankton, S.D.; mother, Helen Arens, Hartington; sister, Joan Arens, Omaha; sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Arens, Hartington; brother-in-law, Greg Johnson, Verdigre; brother-in-law, Danny Thoene, Fordyce; brother-in-law, LaVerle Heimes, Hartington; sister-in-law, Connie (Alan) Folkers, Hartington; Sheila (Allen) Loecker, Mitchell, S.D.; Kathy (Clair) Rupiper, Fordyce; Jeanne (Lyle) Burbach, Springfield, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her children, Heather Marie (1983), Christopher John (1985), miscarriage (1986), her father, Damian Arens (1999); sister, Delores Johnson (2007); brother, Charles Arens (2016); brother, Ronald Arens (2016); sister, Bette Hamilton (2016); brother, Roger Arens (2016); sister, Norma Thoene (2017); father-in-law, Leonard Heimes (1985); mother-in-law, Teresa Heimes (2010); and sister-in-law, Caroline Ann (Karen) Heimes (2010).
