HARTINGTON - Donald D. Sextro,

59, Hartington, died peacefully after a long battle with cancer Nov. 16, 2022, in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service is being planned for Dec. 10, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Butte.

Church address is 921 Gale St, Butte, NE 68722.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Donald Sextro

Hartington. Donald David Sextro was born Oct. 9, 1963, in Burke, S.D., to David and Betty Sextro. He grew up and graduated from Butte, where he participated in football and wrestling. From there, he met Hollie E. Elsasser and they married Feb. 11, 1986. They had three daughters, Amber, Kaci and Natalie. They moved to Hartington and have lived there 31 years. He was employed with Nolan Transportation as an over-the-road truck driver.

His favorite past time was watching football, especially the Falcons. Mowing his lawn and having laughs with friends and family was another passion.

Don is survived by his wife, Hollie; daughters, Amber (Matt) Greve,

Omaha; Kaci (Jason) Hevelone, Littleton, Colo.; and Natalie (Jason) Schaecher, Hartington; seven grandchildren, Hailey, Aspen, Korbyn, Seth,

Isabell, Zane and Bentley; his father, David Sextro, Butte; brothers, Douglas

(Linda) Sextro, Butte, and Dean (Marcie) Sextro, Madison; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sextro; brother, Dustin; grandparents, and an aunt and uncle.
