Dolores Sorenson

HARTINGTON - Dolores Sorenson, 87, Hartington, died March 19, 2023, at Faith Regional Hospital, Norfolk.

Funeral services will be March 22, at 2 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, Maskell, with Pastor Chad Beckius ociating. Burial will be at Lime Creek Cemetery, rural Maskell.

Visitation and a prayer service were Tuesday at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Visitation will continue Wednes- day, at church, one hour prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Haley Willnerd, Michael Sorenson, Nathan Koch, Zach Thompson, Wyatt Willnerd and Jim Bev elhymer.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Dolores Irene was born April 16, 1935, in Wynot, to Fred and Lizzie (Newton) Snowe. She married Wilfred Dean "Bill" Sorenson March 5, 1954, at Faith Luther an Church, Maskell. They lived in the rural Maskell area. Bill worked for a farmer and Dolores taught country school. Dolores's first teaching job was at Deer Creek, east of Maskell. Then she taught at McClough Country School in Cedar County for three years. Bill and Dolores moved to Ponca and she taught one year at Silver Creek, Dixon County. They then moved south of Maskell, in 1958, to start their farming operation. She and Bill moved into Hartington in 2016.

Dolores was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Maskell, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed working in the field with Bill, gardening, tending to her flowers, reading and following her grandchildren's activities.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bill Sorenson, Hartington; daughter, Lori Koch, Hartington; son, Brad (JoEllen) Sorenson, Newcastle; five grandchildren, Haley, Michael, Nathan, Sara and Sheila; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sally Snowe, Wynot; sister-in-law, Pauline Gibbs; brothers-in-law, Howard Gibbs, Ponca, and Lamont (Darlene) Swanson, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lizzie Snowe; sister, Helen (William) Bevelhymer; sister, Joanne Snowe; sister-in-law, Darlene Gibbs, Ponca; and brother-in-law, Albert Gibbs, Ponca.
