Devils top Winside for third-place trophy

LAUREL — It’s not where the Wynot Lady Blue Devils wanted to be, but they made the best of it.

Wynot squared off against Winside Tuesday in the third-place game of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament, earning a quick 25-13, 25-20 decision.

Karley Heimes powered the offense, slamming down seven kills. She also made for quite a wall on defense, collecting seven solo blocks. Autumn Lawson was also a defensive force with five blocks of her own.

Heimes and Edyn Sudbeck patrolled the court making sure nothing fell, while collecting nine and eight digs, respectively.
