Delos “Dooney” Schock

Blue Earth, Minn. — Delos “Dooney” Schock, 89, Blue Earth, Minn., died Oct. 7, 2020, in Blue Earth.

Delos was born July 27, 1931, to Theodore and Cora (Garrison) Schock. He grew up in the West Chain area and graduated with the Class of 1949 from Fairmont High School. He had a love of farming and pursued it from 1953 until he retired in 1995. He was also a Garst Seeds dealer for a number of years. He married Mildred Wehyrauch Dec. 16, 1949. They divorced in 1972. He married Marjorie Meyer (widow of Earl Meyer) Sept. 8, 1976.

His hobbies included woodcrafting and golfing.

Delos is survived by his loving wife, Marge; his children, Mike (Deb) Schock, Sue (Darwin) Ganzel, Dennis (Michelle) Schock and Bradley Schock (special friend, Sue Larson); Marge’s children, Donna (Galen) Nagel, Jim (Marge) Meyer, Helen Ann (Craig) Walters, Lori (Rick) Bigaouette and Bruce Meyer, along with 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; his brother, Lyle Schock; brother-in-law, Lawrence Whitman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald Lange, Delwyn (Jean) Lange, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents Theodore and Cora; brother, Robert; sister, Maxine; and sisters-in-law, May and Mary; Marjorie’s parents, Anthony and Helen Lange; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella and John Hochstein, and Lorita and Ray Gubbels; and sister-in-law, Violet Lange.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Delos’ memory be made to Sts. Peter Paul Catholic church, Blue Earth.
