Deloris M. Wiese

NORFOLK — Deloris M. Wiese, 92, Norfolk, formerly of Osmond, died March 19, 2018, at the St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center, Norfolk. Visitation was Friday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Osmond. Services were March 24 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. Glen Emery officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, rural McLean. Casket bearers her grandchildren, and honorary casket bearers were her great-grandchildren Arrangements were under the direction of Stonacek Memorial Chapel, Osmond. Deloris was born May 1, 1925, at the home of her parents, Fredrick and Gesine (Stolle) Schlake, McLean. She was baptized and confirmed at the Hope Lutheran Church, south of McLean. Deloris attended school all eight grades at District 19 E, and graduated from Osmond High School in 1943. She then went on to graduate from Wayne State College. She taught school for three years. She married Delhart Wilferd Wiese July 6, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph. After marriage, they moved north of Osmond where they joined Immanuel Lutheran Church, Osmond. They had six children, Linda Wecker , Verdigre; Elton Wiese, Spring Creek, Nev.; Elaine (Doug) Levos, McLean; Lowell (Brenda) Wiese, Randolph; Nadene Chavet, Plainview; and Nyla (Pat) Wolff, Norfolk; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Schlake, McLean; and several nieces and nephews. She was an active member Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Ladies Aid. She made the baptismal clothes as a gift for all the babies baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in memory of her husband, Delhart. She was a member of the Sunny Dale Club, and was secretary for the National Farmers Organization County and District. Some hobbies that Delores enjoyed were baking and decorating cakes, making artificial flower arrangements and knitting blankets for family members. She enjoyed painting crocheting, reading, multiple crafts. Most of all Deloris loved to visit, and share her love for life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delhart Wiese; parents, Fred and Gesine Schlake; sister-in-law, LaVerne Schlake; son-in-law, Ron Wecker; and great-granddaughter, Brianna Poppe.
