Darlene Korbacher

LAUREL — Darlene Korbacher, 88, Laurel, died May 3, 2022, at the Countryview Care and Rehab Center, Wayne.

Graveside services were May 6 at the Laurel cemetery, Laurel, with the Rev. Matthew Quanbeck officiating.

There was no visitation planned prior to services. Pallbearers were Lathan Detlefsen, Jerry Johnson, Jerry Kastrup, Scott Urwiler and James Johnson.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Laurel.

Darlene Korbacher was born Nov. 26, 1933, to Henry and Minnie (Hirchert) Korbacher in Laurel. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Darlene attended Laurel Public Schools and graduated in 1951. She graduated from Boyles Business College, Omaha, in 1952. She moved back to Laurel where she worked for E.A. Waite Law Firm. Darlene moved back to Omaha and worked for several attorneys in their law offices. Darlene worked for a Savings and Loan Company, Dry Goods Wholesale, and a packing company. She then worked for 12 years for the Nebraska Baptist State Convention, and for 10 of those years she also worked for Dr. Allan R. Knight. Darlene finished her working career at Continental General Insurance Company. Darlene retired in 1998 and moved back to Laurel. She moved to Wayne to live at the Countryside Care and Rehab Center in May 2013.

Darlene has no family surviving her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie Korbacher; and a sister, Geraldelene Korbacher, Nov. 2, 2020.
