RANDOLPH — Visitation for Daniel B. “Oscar” Meyer, 67, Randolph, was Dec. 22 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Randolph, with a private family service to follow.

A private family burial will be held at a later date. Officiating the service was P.M.A. Richard Bloomquist.

Dan died Dec. 17, 2023, at the Faith Regional Hospital, Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Dan was born Sept. 5, 1956, the third of four children, in Norfolk, to Wilfred and Eileen (Kleensang) Meyer, Randolph. He spent his childhood working on the family farm and playing football, softball and baseball. Oscar attended District 39 School through the eighth grade and graduated from Randolph Public High School with the class of 1974. Upon graduation he worked for Midwest Bridge before farming with his father and raising hogs. Oscar was baptized and confirmed at Zion East Lutheran Church, Rural Hoskins. On November 14, 1981 Oscar married the love of his life, Nita Venteicher, Nov. 14, 1981, and they spent 40 years together until her passing in 2021. Oscar was an athletic, strong and hard-working man and spent his entire life on the family farm south of Randolph.

Oscar is survived by his son, Zach (Nichole) Meyer, and their children Talyn, Blakelyn, and Eastyn, Randolph; daughter, Katie Meyer, and her children Hallie, Eli, Miles, Ansley; brother, Mark (Judy) Meyer, Lake Crystal, Minn.; sister, Susan Meyer, Randolph; and brother, Mickey Meyer, Randolph.

Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Nita; infant twin sons, Andrew Daniel, Danny Rae Meyer; and his parents, Wilfred and Eileen.
