Cyril F. Wubben

FORDYCE — Cyril F. Wubben, 87, Fordyce, died March 15, 2020, at Avera Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton, S.D.

Due to the present mandated healthcare precautions, this was a private family visitation and funeral. Burial was at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Fordyce.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Gross, Steve Arens, Brian Burbach, Anthony Wubben, Adam Wubben, Chris Donnelly, Ross Pinkelman and Josh Wubben.

Honorary pallbearers were Cyril’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Cyril Francis was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Fordyce, to Raymond and Alma (Arens) Wubben. He attended school for ten years and then began helping his father on the family farm. Cyril married Coletta Johanna Mauch June 13, 1956, in Menominee. Cyril continued to farm until he retired in 2006. At that time, they moved into Fordyce.

Cyril was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, church council, and also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a board member of Farmers Union Coop, Fordyce, and also at Cedar Security Bank.

Cyril and Coletta enjoyed taking bus trips all over the United States. He also enjoyed doing carpentry work. Cyril was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and had many friends.

Cyril is survived by his wife of 64 years, Coletta, Fordyce; eight children and spouses, Betty (Jerry) Gross, Randolph; Donna (Rich) Boeckman, Wynot; Ann (David) Jones, Norfolk; David (Jill) Wubben, Hartington; Debora (Charles) Donnelly, Las Vegas, Nev.; Lorie (Brice) Pinkelman, St. Helena; Darrell (Jennifer) Wubben, Crofton; Donald (Dion) Wubben, Fordyce; son-in-law, Bill Arens, Yankton, S.D.; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six siblings and spouses, Betty (Harold) Eickhoff, Hartington; Daniel (Diane) Wubben, Yankton, S.D.; Geralda (Dean) McGregor, Hartington; Jean Marie Lammers, Hartington; Claudette (Doug) Sternhagen, Hartington; Chuck Wubben, Yankton, S.D.; sister-in-law, Janice Wubben, Yankton, S.D.

Cyril was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alma Wubben; daughter, Carol Arens; son-in-law, Bill Burbach; grandson, Austin Wubben; great-grandson, Jaxyn Beins; brother, Marcus Wubben; brothers-in-law, David Thoene and Thomas Lammers; and sister-in-law, Marla Wubben.
