PORTER, Texas — Cyril Dayton Lentz, 84, Porter, Texas, died April 26, 2022. There will be a celebration of life

There will be a celebration of life for Cy Aug. 2, from 2-4 p.m., in the basement of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington.

Cy was born Sept. 30, 1937, to Harry and Florence (Carlson) Lentz in Coleridge. He was baptized at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Coleridge, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington.

Cy went to country school, Branch District 14, through eighth grade and then attended Hartington High School, graduating in 1954. He joined the Army and was stationed in Paris, France, working as a system programmer on the mainframe. After being honorably discharged, he attended college in Wayne.

Cy worked for Cessna aircraft, and later, went to work for Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas. The company moved their headquarters to Lakewood, Colo., where he was the senior system software analyst until he retired in 1998.

Cy enjoyed all kinds of sports, dancing, especially the waltz and two-step, camping, fishing, traveling 4-wheel-drive roads with the Jeep, and photography. He spent hours going through the pictures we’d taken on our trips. Cy thoroughly enjoyed going to special destinations doing photo shoots. He created DVDs with music background to enjoy at a later time. Cy thoroughly enjoyed watching wildlife, feeding the hummingbirds and tending to his beautiful flowers.

Cy will be deeply missed by all of his family, relatives and many friends.
