Graham celebrates 20 years in business

LAUREL – Melissa Graham, owner/ operator of Missa Sue’s Salon & Spa, is celebrating 20 years in business.

Missa Sue’s Salon & Spa opened January 2003 in the old Doctor Carroll office. After four years, Melissa Graham saw the opportunity to expand her business by offering more services to the community, she moved her business onto second street where her family and friends helped her renovate her current building to its original beauty. Customers have been able to enjoy Hair Care for the whole family, from cuts to colors, massage, tanning, spray tans, manicures, pedicures, ear piercing, and facials.

Graham has enjoyed her career as a cosmetologist. She said it doesn’t feel like work when you’re having this much fun. She is thankful for getting to be a part of her customers life’s. Whether they be the highs or the lows, new babies, weddings, new jobs, promotions, to mourning the loss of a loved one, or supporting and holding their hand when they have to shave their head when chemo takes most of their hair, or styling hair one last time for a funeral. There is something very special about getting to share those moments in her customers’ lives.

Melissa credits her brother Evan for her finishing beauty school, being homesick the second week of school calling her Mom begging to come home, her brother called and sang “ Beauty school Dropout ” from the movie Grease. This infuriated her, as siblings do and she was going to prove him wrong by sticking to it. She was glad she did. Twenty years later in business and countless memories.

Graham is thankful for the support through the years from the residents of Laurel and the surrounding communities.

Missa Sue’s Salon & Spa is open Monday-Friday 402-256-9553 or you can message Melissa on Facebook.
