Posted in:

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Board Game Club is sponsoring its sixth annual creative writing contest this spring.

Interested writers will be able to submit short stories, poetry and essays. The first-place grand prize will be $50, second place will be $30 and third place will be $20.

The 2024 edition of the contest is open to anyone in the public interested in writing about their enjoyment of playing games with friends and family.

Subjects could include favorite board game reviews, funny stories from around the gaming table, living inside a board game for a day or examples of being a good winner and/or loser.

Eligible participants will submit original work by May 1 this year to Peter Talley at either Opete77@yahoo.com or P.O. Box 164, Hartington, NE 68739.

Talley also will receive contest submissions during scheduled gaming sessions of the Hartington Board Game Club at the Hartington Public Library and the Wausa Board Game Club at the Lied Lincoln Township Library in Wausa.

Contest winners and prizes will be announced by June. Submissions will not be returned.
