Coleridge Area Fund awards four grants to worthy causes

Posted in:

COLERIDGE — The Coleridge Area Fund Advisory Committee recently awarded four grants from its Unrestricted Endowment Account to local worthy causes that are improving quality of life for those living in the Coleridge area.

Recipients of these funds were Park View Haven Nursing Home, The Embers Assisted Living, Coleridge Christian Caring and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School.

Park View Haven Nursing Home was awarded $208 for the purchase of outdoor benches for residents to use. The Embers Assisted Living was awarded $300 to purchase outdoor rocking chairs for residents to use.

Coleridge Christians Caring was awarded $300 to use for items in their holiday boxes that are distributed later in the year to those in need.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School was awarded $412.64 in grant funds to build a bench, tether ball and seesaw for its playground area.

The Coleridge Area Fund Advisory Committee is focused on building an unrestricted endowment. Similar to a community savings account, unrestricted endowments are an important tool to keep hometowns across Nebraska growing, thriving and improving for future generations. While a portion of the income earned by the unrestricted endowment is granted annually to fund projects and programs to benefit the community, the principal remains intact and grows every year, forever. The Coleridge Area Fund is an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation. Tax-deductible contributions can be made directly to the Coleridge Area Fund at P.O. Box 3, Coleridge, NE 68727 or online at www.nebcommfound. org/give/coleridge-area-fund.
