Claudette J. “Andy” Corkin

DAKOTA CITY — Claudette J. “Andy” Corkin, 79, Dakota City, died Jan. 17, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Visitation and a scriptural wake service were Jan. 21 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, South Sioux City. Funeral services were Jan. 22 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Jackson, with Father Michael Keating officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home, South Sioux City.
Claudette was born March 22, 1938, in Laurel, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Thompson) Anderson. She grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1956. She married William Corkin Dec. 28, 1957, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, South Sioux City. They had five children. Claudette worked as a legal secretary, retiring from Fitch Law Office in 2008.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, South Sioux City. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, gardening, scrapbooking, and she loved to read.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Corkin and Carla Corkin, South Sioux City; Brenda (Darrel) Schademan, St. Joseph, Mo.; Bill Corkin, Dakota City; and Robert (Diane) Corkin, Jackson; six grandchildren, Justin, Danielle, Jordon, Cassondra, Dylan and Zoe; eight great-grandchildren, Corby, Marcus, Marley, Hadley, Cavan, Jack, Vivian and Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews.
Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Minnie Anderson; her husband, William Corkin, in 2014; sisters, Phyllis Maloney and Anita Casey; and brothers, Arlen and Robert Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
