City decides to pay for street project with bond

Posted in:

HARTINGTON — The Hartington City Council is getting ready to pay the bill for street improvement projects.

At a special meeting last week, the Council authorized the issuance of $850,000 from the Highway Allocation Fund Pledge Bonds to pay for street improvements at Madison and Broadway, and Franklin streets.

“These were very large street repairs that had been put off for quite some time,” said City Clerk Natalie Schaecher.

The City Council also approved the liquor license for Christian Auch and Katherine Green to do business at The Chief at 107 E. Main St. A public hearing was held on the liquor license and no one contested it.

The special council meeting lasted 10 minutes.
