City agrees to renew current insurance policy

Posted in:

HARTINGTON — The Hartington City Council voted Monday to renew their current insurance policy with Anderson and Anderson Insurance of Hartington.

The Council heard a 10-minute presentation from Peg Anderson about the city’s current liabilities and coverages.

Council members asked Anderson several questions about the transfer station, airport and golf course, all of which sit on city owned property.

Anderson said a new inspection needs to be done on the City Auditorium so the insurance company has a better idea of what the replacement value of the facility is since it is such a large building in the new city historic district.

Anderson also pointed out the cost of the premium is up 1.4 percent from last year, but she noted the city has added $550,000 in coverage, as well.
