Hartington-Newcastle Public School is the recipient of a Donald E. Nielsen Foundation grant of $16,502. The money will go toward the purchase of new instruments for Hartington-Newcastle Public School. The money was donated for the purpose of providing instruments to those students who may not have the funds to purchase an instrument. With the money, music teacher Mary Hahne said that the school was able to purchase a set of chimes, three trombones, two alto saxophones, two clarinets, a french horn, three trumpets, and a bari sax. Hahne appreciates the generosity of the Nielsen Foundation. She feels like it is Christmas in July.
