Chuck graduated from Cedar Catholic High School in 1970. After graduation, he farmed with his father for several years until he started working for Hartington Concrete, and then drove truck for Boeckman Ag. When Chuck was younger, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing with his nieces and nephews. He loved going on a drive in the country or on a walk around town.

Chuck loved his family, especially his daughter, Megan, who was his pride and joy.
