Center is still patiently waiting for OK to open back up

Posted in:

HARTINGTON — When August begins, you can start to see the transition over to fall. The sunrise isn’t as early and we even get a few cool days. It gets hot again once school starts, though.

We are starting to see some relaxation of the being closed situation in the state.

Three public health districts have moved to phase four, which means being totally open with some restrictions.

Knox County just to the west of us is one of the areas, so perhaps we will be next.

The problem is that the number of cases is on the rise once again in Nebraska. Last Friday the number of cases in Nebraska was up by 2037 individuals. Even here in Cedar County we are seeing gradual increases in the number of cases we have had somewhere in the county.

For now, Cedar County is still under phase three for senior centers. This means we may be closed until the end of the month.

It is perplexing to report this to you each week. We have had good indications that things were going to change, and, yet, they have not changed.

We are still having our Sunday carryout meals as a means of keeping our numbers up to qualify for funding from the Agency. We have decided to go ahead and try a carryout breakfast this Sunday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. You will still need to call and tell us what your want to order and when you will want to pick it up. The number here is 402-254-6698 and you can call anytime this week. Our regular home delivered folks can still have a meal delivered to their home. Just call to tell us what you want.

This will be a regular breakfast menu of: your choice between pancakes, a waffle, or French toast, sausage, scrambled eggs, tropical fruit, fruit juice, tater tots, and milk. I hope you will give us a try.
