Cedar takes down pair of MidStates foes

HARTINGTON - Cedar Catholic notched volleyball wins over two more MidStates conference foes last week.

Cedar Catholic is now 18-3 on the season and fifth in Class C2 in Nebraska Activities Association Power Points.

Cedar defeated Battle Creek for the third time this season last Tuesday. The Lady Trojans won in four sets- 25-12 23-25 25-17 25-23.

The state-rated Braves challenged Big red at the net, earning seven blocks. the defensive effort was not enough to match Cedar's relentless attack effort, though.

WEST POINT - The Lady Trojans earned a win with a three-set sweep over Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Thursday. Cedar Catholic won 25-17 25-16 25-23.

Cedar was led by Jada Cattau, who was all over the floor, posting a team-high 14 kills and 17 digs. Cattau would also finish out the stat sheet with an ace serve.

Cattau was followed on defense with three other girls earning double-digitt digs. Maddie Wieseler went down for 14, Megan Heimes had 12, and Aiden Wortmann contributed with 11 digs.
