Posted in:

PONCA — For the second golf triangular in a row, Cedar Catholic won with a team score of 170.

Last Monday, Cedar Catholic and Hartington-Newcastle traveled to Ponca for a nine-hole triangular at the Highland Oaks Golf Course. The Trojans ran away with the victory, defeating Ponca by 18 strokes and HNS by 48.

Mason Schaefer posted the low round on the day with a 38. He was the only golfer to shoot under 40.

Ponca’s Evan Anderson shot a 41 to finish second. Cedar’s Nolan Klug and Riley Kuehn followed with a 42 and 43.

The Trojans score of 170 was rounded out by Ted Bengston posting a 47. While the team has won back-to-back matches, Cedar coach Mike Johnson still sees areas the team can improve as the season progresses.
