Cedar golf team wins at Stanton; Kuehn earns medalist honors again

STANTON — Cedar Catholic earned its second title of the young golf season Monday, claiming the Stanton Golf Triangular.

The Trojans fired a 186 at Elkhorn Acres Golf Club to defeat runner-up Norfolk Catholic, which finished the day with a 194. Stanton finished third at 199.

Cedar Catholic’s Riley Kuehn earned medalist honors by carding a 37. His closest competitor came in nine strokes behind him.

Kurtis Kathol turned in the best outing of his young varsity career, firing a 47 to finish in a tie for fifth place. Carson Becker carded a 50 to finish tied for seventh place.

Cedar will be in action again Thursday when they head to the Laurel Invitational.
