Cedar County Communities for Kids to host conference in Hartington

Posted in:

HARTINGTON — As a professional it is important to invest in yourself by seeking professional development. Child care licensing in Nebraska requires 12 hours of annual continuing education for early childhood professionals. Attending conferences, trainings, workshops, and pursing higher education are all acceptable ways to earn training credit.

Cedar County Communities for Kids is proud to sponsor the inaugural Cedar County (CECO) Early Childhood Conference which will be held at Nissen Wines in Hartington on Saturday, March 2gj. This fast-paced, engaging conference is for early childhood professionals, classroom teachers, parents; ANYONE who works with young children. The conference will focus on the importance of establishing solid relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community members. Speakers include Erika Fink, Northern Region Early Learning Coordinator, Penny Gildea, Independent Early Childhood Consultant, and T. Marni Vos, National Humorous Speaker.

Sessions during the CECO conference will focus on brain development, the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYQ) Code of Ethics, and how to incorporate humor into every aspect of our lives.

After the final session of the day, conference attendees are invited to stay and attend a networking social at Nissen Wines sponsored by over 30 local businesses. These businesses recognize the important role early care and education professionals play in workforce development and how it allows their employees to come to work knowing their children are well cared for in high-quality, enriching environments.

The CECO Early Childhood Conference is scheduled from 8:00 am - 1:15 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Participants will leave feeling affirmed, rejuvenated, and equipped to foster stronger relationships with children, families, colleagues, and their community. To register go to go.unl.edu/ceco2024.
