Cedar Catholic girls earn All Conference honors

NORFOLK — A pair of Cedar Catholic volleyball players earned First Team MidStates Conference honors, while two other Lady Trojans made the All Conference Honorable Mention squad.

Senior hitter Abby Hochstein and junior Libero Megan Heimes both made the elite First Team list.

Hochstein led Cedar Catholic at the net this season with a team-high 324 kills. She was second on the team in blocks, sending 13 back for points.

Hochstein was also Cedar’s best server, ring 42 ace serves over the net.

Heimes led the team in digs, going down for 342 during the regular season.

Heimes was also solid at the service line, ring 22 ace serves over the net.

Aiden Wortmann set up Cedar’s offense all season long, dishing out 790 set assists during the regular season. She was also a reliable defender, going down for 219 digs.

Brynn Wortmann was a true jack-of-all trades for Cedar.

She had 195 kills, 223 digs, and was second on the team in serving with 39 ace serves.
