Cedar Catholic brings home third place in Class C High School Scholastic contest

NORFOLK — O’Neill High School won the 2018 Class C High School Scholastic Contest hosted by Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Wayne Community Schools was second and Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington placed third. In the Class D contest, Bancroft-Rosalie Schools claimed first-place honors.

Creighton Community Schools was second followed by St. Mary’s High School in O’Neill in third. A record number of students took part in both events. A total of 1,260 students from 51 Class C and Class D schools participated in the Scholastic Contest. The event also included a Quiz Bowl with 41 teams with an additional 250 students from both classes participating. The Quiz Bowl was won by Howells-Dodge Consolidated Schools with Oakland-Craig High School taking runner-up honors
