Cecilia “Kay” Munter

OMAHA — Cecilia “Kay” Munter, 74, died April 14, 2019, with her family by her side.

Visitation and a Vigil service were April 21 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Omaha.

Mass of Christian burial was April 22 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Arrangements were under the direction of Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel, Omaha.

Born in Savannah, Ga., Nov. 10, 1944, to Vince and Claudia Hartz, Kay was raised in Randolph, where she often helped in her father’s pharmacy. After graduating from high school, she pursued an education degree and graduated from College of St. Mary, Omaha. After graduating, she reconnected with the love of her life, Douglas Munter. They were married June 17, 1967, and adored each other for 52 wonderful years. Kay used her teaching degree for two years as a sixth-grade teacher in Cudahy, Wis. After having her first child, she devoted her life to her husband and children, continuing that devotion as each of her 14 grandchildren arrived. She was a faith-filled woman who let our Lord guide her way.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Douglas; daughters, Christina Worthy (Tim) and Kimberly Haynes (Chris); sons, Brian Munter (Patti) and Scott Munter (Liz); 14 beautiful grandchildren; brothers, Joe Hartz (Bev) and Richard Hartz (Marcia); sister, Mary Huetig (Paul); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Vincent and Claudia Hartz.
