UTICA, S.D. — Carol Ann Becker, 80, Utica, S.D., died Feb. 2, 2024, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Feb. 7, at St. Agnes Sigel Catholic Church, rural Utica, with Rev. Tom Anderson officiating.

Burial will be in Sigel Cemetery, rural Utica. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation, with a rosary and vigil service, was Tuesday at the Wintz Ray Funeral Home, Yankton.

Carol Ann Becker was born Jan. 27, 1944, to Mark and Bernice (Breece) Robinette in Winnebago. She grew up in the Niobrara area and attended Marty Indian School. She married Maurice Becker July 16, 1966, and they lived in the northeast Nebraska area for a few years. Maurice and Carol Ann then purchased a farm in the Utica area, where Carol Ann took great pride in raising her family and working on the farm.

Carol Ann was a strong-willed faithful woman who never met a stranger. She loved visiting with anyone she could, it didn’t matter where she was. She enjoyed cooking and baking and collecting chickens. She was a mother to all and welcomed everyone into her home. She loved her family and would often make trips to Nebraska to visit them on Sundays.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice Becker, Yankton, S.D.; five children, Dean Becker, Yankton, S.D.; Doyle (Carolyn), Yankton, S.D.; Dawn Becker, Yankton, S.D.; DeAnn Becker, Yankton, S.D.; and David (Tessa Myers) Becker, Utica; 10 grandchildren, Dylan (Kourtney), Connar, Brenna, Gage, Iyana, Zane, Cole, Brock, Ty and Ashtin; twin great-grandchildren, Beckett and Lainey; four brothers and sisters, Donny Robinette, Rick (Joan) Robinette, Linda (Doug) Bolte, and Markeetta Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dale; daughter-in-law, Rhonda; granddaughter, Corrine; and 15 brothers and sisters.
