Bradley L. Janssen

OMAHA— Bradley L. Janssen, 61, Omaha, formerly of Coleridge, died under hospice care at the Life Care Center, Omaha, after a short battle with cancer and meningitis.

Private family graveside services will be held at Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge, with the Rev. Russ Lambert officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.

Bradley L. Janssen was born Aug. 30, 1958, in Yankton, S.D., to Claire Clayton and Norma Jean (Heier) Janssen. He grew up in Coleridge and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He graduated from Coleridge High School in 1976. Brad worked for many years at IBP Corporation in Dakota City, then moved to Omaha and worked a variety of jobs before his illness.

Brad enjoyed watching his nieces grow up and spending time with special friend, Michelle, and his dog, Scrappy. His family and friends will always remember Brad as a kind and friendly person.

Bradley is survived by his mother, Norma, Coleridge; brothers Scott (Angie) Janssen, Hoskins, and Curtis Janssen, Coleridge; sister, Marci (Dan ) Ludwig, Wisner; nieces, Brittany (Steve) Webber, Wayne, and Courtney (Nate) Rosenthal and Finley, Lakewood, Colo.; aunts and uncles, LeRoy (Marilyn) Heier, Norfolk, and Russell (Lorraine) Prince, Winside; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claire Janssen, March 21, 2006; a brother, Jeff Janssen, March 26, 1979; paternal grandparents, Alfred (Gladys) Janssen; maternal grandparents, Bill (Thelma) Heier; and paternal aunt and uncle, Warren and JoAnn Bendinger.
