Brad Goeden

STANTON — Brad Goeden, 41 Stanton, and formerly of Hartington, died Feb. 27, 2018, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Visitation and a Vigil service were Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, and continued Saturday at church, one hour prior to services. Mass of Christian Burial was March 3 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial was at the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Pallbearers were Mike Peitz, Kyle Voecks, Cody Anderson, Delon Kathol, Adam Steffen and Matt Hoferer. Honorary pallbearers were the Stanton Public Power employees. Brad Allen Goeden was born Jan. 21, 1977, to Rod and Rose Marie (Koch) Goeden in Osmond. Brad grew up in Hartington and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School in May 1995. He graduated from Northeast Technical College in Norfolk May 1997 in Utility Lineman. Brad married Jessica Lynn Carstens Brummels April 21, 2007, along the Missouri River at Brookey Bottom. He worked for the Stanton Public Power for the past 20 years as a utility lineman. Brad liked deer hunting, ice fishing, working on cars with his friends, and driving in the Wrecking Derby’s. He loved the family cabin at Brookey Bottom. Lots of fun memories were made with family and friends there. Brad is survived by his wife Jessica, Stanton; two sons, Carter Allen Goeden and Henry Allen Goeden at home; parents, Rod and Rose Goeden, Hartington; three brothers and spouses, Chris and Carmen Goeden, Lincoln; Tom and Erica Goeden, Lincoln; and Rick and Barb Goeden, Firth; one sister, Sara, and husband, Brandon Fischer, Hartington; father and mother-in-law, Craig and Teresa Carstens, Meadow Grove; sister-in-law, Brandy, and husband, Beau Sheffield, La Vista; brother-in-law, Trent, and wife, Kelsey Carstens, Meadow Grove. Brad was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Norm Goeden; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Koch; uncle, Pat Goeden; and cousin, Matthew Goeden. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the Nebraska Organ Recovery at UNMC, Omaha, in Brad’s name.
