A Birthday Blast

Fr. Owen Korte had reason to celebrate Sunday. The celebration marked his 65th birthday. It was also a way to celebrate the unification of the Holy Trinity and St. Michael’s Catholic churches. There was a meal for the birthday boy filled with cake, fried fish, and sweets galore. Someone even took the liberty to sketch Fr. Korte’s face and give it to kids to color. There was even a live band that got everyone off their feet and dancing to classic songs by Frank Sinatra, and other big band artists, especially Ron and Bernice Tramp (top). Fr. Korte pretended to direct everyone as they belted out a chorus of “Happy Birthday.” (right) Zach Becker spins his daughter Vivia during one of the Swing numbers.
