BLOOMFIELD — A Celebration of Life for Billy McDonald, 73, Bloomfield, will be 10:30 a.m., June 9, at Brockhaus Funeral Home, Creighton. Billy died May 30, 2018, at his residence. Billy Howard McDonald, son of Tom and Etta (Hickey) McDonald, was born Dec. 8, 1944, at Boise, Idaho. He attended and graduated from Randolph Public School. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army in July 1962, and was honorably discharged July 1965, with SP4 rank. Over two and one-half years were spent in service overseas in Korea and Germany. Bill was a lifetime member of the Randolph V.F.W. Post 5545. He married Paula Portugal Jan. 21, 1998, in Hartington. Bill has called Fremont, Randolph and Bloomfield his home over the years. As a petro-chemical start-up technician, he traveled the world opening chemical plants in places including Venezuela, Iraq, Columbia, Burma, Nigeria, Yugoslavia and Mexico, to name a few. Survivors include his wife, Paula (Portugal) McDonald, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Kristie (McDonald) and Glenn Moore, Forked River, N.J.; daughter, Kelly McDonald, Fremont; step son, William Wyatt; step daughter, Paula Ann Taylor; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (McDonald) and Randal Anderson, Hartington; and multitudes of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy McDonald; and sisters, Betty Wichman, Neva Lovejoy and Judy Reeves.
