Bernadette V. Tramp

BLOOMFIELD — Bernadette V. Tramp, 100, Bloomfield, died Aug. 9, 2018, at the Avera Creighton Hospital, Creighton, surrounded by her family. Visitation and a Vigil service were Aug. 17 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, and continued Saturday, one hour prior to services. Mass of Christian Burial was Aug. 18 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with the Rev. Timothy Podraza officiating. Burial was at the St. Rose Cemetery, Crofton. Pallbearers were Justin Hochstein, Jeff Hochstein, Travis Poppe, Christopher Zoucha, Scott Edmunds, Lisa Hamm, Lori Rath and Jean Freidenbach. Honorary pallbearers were Dean Harts, Dale Harts, Denny Harts, Danny Harts, Jason Hochstein, Amber Denstitt, Tori Tramp, Tessa Tramp, Sara Dalton, Nathan Tramp and Nicholas Tramp Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton. Bernadette Velma Tramp was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Bow Valley, to Louis and Susie (Thieman) Wiebelhaus. She grew up on a farm near Bow Valley. Bernadette worked as a housekeeper for Rev. Kluthe in Menominee, and then worked for Stupenagels Egg Processing Plant in Yankton. She then worked for Gurneys Seed and Nursery in Yankton. Bernadette married Sylvester Anthony Tramp June 2, 1942, in Bow Valley. She and Sylvester lived and farmed between Crofton and Bloomfield. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Jolly Workers Extension Club. Bernadette quilted, crocheted, gardened, and canned. She did love to mow and did so until she was 93 years old. Bernadette kept busy doing furniture refinishing, playing cards and playing Rummikub. She always had pie, cookies and brownies around when anyone would stop by. Bernadette is survived by her eight children and spouses, Patricia (Gerald) Harts, Yankton, S.D.; Mardell “Mickey” (Marvin) Hochstein, Bloomfield; Kelly (Linda) Tramp, Norfolk; Sandee Zoucha, Duluth, Ga.; Allen (Tamie) Tramp, Lincoln; Carol (Mike) Norris, Kirkman, Iowa; Dale Tramp, Lincoln; and Donna (Alan) Poppe, Crofton; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sylvester, June 3, 1997, at the age of 80; two sisters, Irene (Gus) Heimes, Leora (Earl) Guenther; one brother, Irvin (Chris) Wiebelhaus; and son-in-law, Joe Zoucha.
