Bears fall to Cedar County foes

LAUREL — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge slipped to .500 with a 56-41 loss to Class D2 powerhouse Wynot here on Feb. 16 in LCC’s regular-season finale as they head into sub-district action this week.

Wynot jumped on the Bears early, leading after the first frame, 10-4 then extended the lead to 2916 by the intermission.

The Blue Devils increased the advantage again in the third before Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the final stanza 15-8, but the damage was already done.

Gibson Roberts paced the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge offense with 14 points.

Kolby Hansen added nine and Tyler Olson chipped in seven.

Hansen pulled down six missed shots, Olson and Leonard snared five and Kayton Hall contributed four.

Olson dished out a couple of assists and Eli Haisch had a couple of steals.

The Bears were set to embark in the C2-8 SubDistrict Tournament as the No. 2 seed and were to take on Crofton in the opening round.

The No. 1-seeded Cedar Catholic Trojans were to take on Osmond/Randolph on the other side of the bracket and the winners of the opening round will get together Thursday, Feb. 22, in Hartington at the Monsignor Werner Activity Center for the C2-8 SubDistrict Championship.
