Arlene M. Kronaizl

TYNDALL, S.D. — Arlene M. Kronaizl, 87, Tyndall, S.D., formerly of Tabor, S.D., died June 23, 2019, at Tyndall Good Samaritan Society.

Visitation, with a Vigil Service and Rosary, were June 27 at Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Tabor. There was also visitation at the church for one hour prior to service time.

Funeral Mass was June 28 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Tabor, with the Rev. Frs. Anthony Urban, Joseph Forcelle, Joseph Puthenkulathil and Msgr. Carlton Hermann as Concelebrants.

Burial followed in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matt Kronaizl, Tom Kronaizl, Joe Kronaizl, Justin Kronaizl, Heath Schmidt, and Payton Silvernail.

Honorary Pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel in Tabor.

Arlene M. Kronaizl, the daughter of Emil and Leantine (Schnieder) Rothschadl, was born March 23, 1932, in Tyndall, S.D. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo Catholic Church. Arlene married Thomas G. Kronaizl Sept. 19, 1949, at St. Leo Catholic Church and they had four children.

They were members of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Tabor, where Arlene was active in the St. Wenceslaus Altar Society. She was also a member of the Czech Heritage Preservation Society, Social Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Good Samaritan Advisory Board and Guild, the Tabor Chamber, Beseda Hall officer and manager, and the women’s bowling league.

Arlene will be remembered in the surrounding area for her cake baking talents, especially wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes.

Arlene and Tom spent most of their lives farming by Tabor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include, sons, Greg (Ann), Omaha; Gary (Evie),Tabor, S.D.; and Mark (Char), Tabor, S.D.; her daughter, Kathy (Larry) Schmidt, St. Helena; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her first great-great grandchild, on the way; brothers, Kenny (Marilyn) Rothschadl, Tyndall, S.D., and John (Donna) Rothschadl, Yankton, S.D.; sisters-in-law, Mae Rothschadl, Maxine Kronaizl, and Helen Kronaizl; and other relatives and friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; her brother, Jim; and her granddaughter, Pamela.
