Area children reach goal of 1000 books before Kindergarten

HARTINGTON — Halle Backer, daughter of Clay and Kara Backer, Hartington, just completed the “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program at the Hartington Public Library. She received a medal and certificate, her final prize, and a free book from the library. Halle will be attending Kindergarten at Holy Trinity the fall of 2019.

Why come to the Library?

“To get some books, of course,” said Halle,

Her favorite books to check out are “Fancy Nancy” and “Little Mermaid,” but “Paw Patrol” for her brothers, Colt and Jax. Halle loves getting pick out a sucker and a sticker when checking out her books.

Madden Leise, son of Preston and Emily Leise, also just completed the “1000 Books Before Kindergarten. He received a medal and certificate, his final prize, and a free book from the library. He will be attending Kindergarten at Holy Trinity the fall of 2021
