Area athletes earn All State honors

OMAHA — Several area basketball players recently received All-State recognition by publications across the state.

Players from Wynot, Cedar Catholic, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Hartington-Newcastle schools were tabbed All-State and All-State Honorable Mention by various media outlets.

Cedar Catholic’s Nolan Becker was named to the Class C-2 All-State team by the Omaha World Herald after completing his junior season at the Class C2 State Tournament averaging just under 17 points per game.

The junior sharp shooter was also named to the first team of the Class C Elite Eight by the Norfolk Daily News.

Teammate Alex Kuehn was named to the Class C Elite Eight Third Team and along with Jaymison Cattau, was named C2 Honorable Mention in the OWH.

Cattau and Braeden Reifenrath were named to the Elite Eight Honorable Mention list.

Wynot’s Dylan Heine was named to the Class D2 All-State Second team by the World Herald after leading the Blue Devils to the Class D2 State Tournament. He was also tabbed First Team on the Class D Elite Eight list by the Norfolk Daily News.

Chase Schroeder and Zack Foxhoven were named to the Third Team of the Class D Elite Eight and were joined by teammate, Carson Wieseler on the Honorable Mention list in the OWH.

Wynot Lady Blue Devil, Kinslee Heimes was named to the Omaha World Herald Class D2 First Team, and was on the Second Team in Class D2 of the Elite Eight.

Kenna Oligmueller joined teammate Kinslee Heimes and was named to the Elite Eight Third Team and the honorable mention’s list in the OWH.

Teammate Allison Wieseler was named to the Class D2 All-State Second Team by the World Herald and was Elite Eight Honorable Mention along with Kayla Pinkelman and Myrah Sudbeck.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge senior Gibson Roberts was named Third Team of the Class C Elite Eight and Honorable Mention by the Omaha World Herald.

Roberts was joined by Tyler Olson and Kolby Hansen on the Honorable Mention List by the OWH.

The Lady Bears were represented by freshman, Rena Rasmussen on the Elite Eight Class C Second Team and was named Honorable Mention by the World Herald with teammate, Mallory Eriksen.

Eriksen was joined by her sister Kaida on the Honorable Mention List of the Elite Eight.

Cedar Catholic had three Lady Trojans recognized by the Omaha paper. Anisten Wortmann, Addison Walter and Lauren Bernecker were named Honorable Mention, Wortmann and Walter were tabbed Honorable Mention by the Norfolk Daily News.

Hartington-Newcastle’s Mani Lange and McKenzie Bruning were named Honorable Mention to the Class C Elite Eight and Riley Sudbeck was named Honorable Mention in the Omaha World Herald in Class D2.
