Anna Mae Erickson

WAUSA — Funeral services for Anna Mae Erickson, 93, Wausa, will be 10:30 a.m., April 24, at Thabor Lutheran Church, Wausa. Pastor Carl Sirotzki will officiate, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Wausa.

Visitation was Tuesday at the church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home, Wausa, is in charge of arrangements.

Anna died April 19, 2019, at Heritage of Bel Air, Norfolk.

Anna Mae (Nelson) Erickson was born Oct. 24, 1925, at Volin, S.D., to Alfred and Bertha (Thorson) Nelson and grew up on a farm south of Maskell. She graduated from Maskell High School in 1943. Anna Mae attended Wayne State College, Wayne, and taught school for five years. She married Lloyd Erickson June 3, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church, Maskell. Lloyd and Anna Mae moved to a farm southeast of Wausa, where they raised their five children and farmed until March 1998.

They were active members of Thabor Lutheran Church, Wausa. After Lloyd passed away in November 2001, Anna Mae continued to live on the farm until August 2012, when she moved into the Wausa Villa.

Survivors include their five children, Sandra (Rich) Schlenker, Rochester, Minn.; Darleen Farwell, Kearney; Linda (Dean) Christoffers, Pocahontas, Iowa; Janet Erickson, Norfolk; and Keith Erickson, Norfolk; six grandchildren, Peter (Tara) Schlenker, Jason (Mandy) Farwell, Kristin (Jon) Krueger, Katrina (Dan) Peterson, Cameron (Danon) Christoffers, and Carley (Tyler) Denton; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Valerie Erickson, Seward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; infant son, Bruce; son-in-law, Jack Farwell; her siblings, Alvera (Otto) Klanderud, Thelma (Bill) Heier, Arden (Gale) Nelson, and Elwin (Bess) Nelson; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Duane Erickson, Lois (Ches) Landholm, Leslie (Bonnie) Erickson and Lowell Erickson.
