Monday marked the first day Nebraska high school athletes could begin practice for the new sports season. While local volleyball players practiced in the gym, the girls golf team practiced on the golf course, and the football teams took to the field to start their preparations. Cedar Catholic practiced Monday afternoon in 91-degree heat, making sure to take plenty of water breaks during the work out session. Hartington-Newcastle practiced Monday evening in an effort to find warmer temperatures.
