WYNOT — The Wynot Blue Devils and the Allen Eagles met in a Lewis and Clark Conference game Tuesday.

In this sea-saw battle the Blue Devils took a three-point lead into the fourth quarter, but they could not finish off the stubborn Eagles, as Allen came back to earn the 42-35 win.

Allen was led by a trio of double figure scorers led by Brogan Jones with a game high 14 points. Josh Grone and Lukas Oswald each contributed 10 points to their team’s big win.

Wynot was led by Anthony Haberman with 11 points, and they got seven points and nine rebounds from Garrett Lange.

The long ball disappeared in this game for the Blue Devils, as they only managed to hit 2-14 from behind the arc for the game.

In the first quarter, Allen got six points and a bucket from four other players, as they earned a 17-8 first quarter lead.

Wynot got a pair of buckets from Anthony Haberman and a basket each from Trystan Heimes and Jack Kuchta.

In the second quarter, Allen got baskets by Lukas Oswald, Josh Grone and Brogan Jones. Wynot would rally behind a trey by Peyton and another bucket by Trystan Heimes, as they cut the Eagles lead to 21-18 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Wynot would continue to close the gap. Their defense held the Eagles to just seven points on a trey by Noah Carr and a pair of baskets in close by Josh Grone.

Wynot’s comeback was led with a trey by Owen Sudbeck and five points in the paint by Garrett Lange, as the Blue Devils held the lead 31-28 going into the final period.

The Blue Devils went cold at the least opportune time and had all kinds of trouble scoring in the final quarter.

Meanwhile, Allen struggled early on offense, but then got five points from Brogan Jones.

The Eagles were aided by a tough call on a hard foul late in the contest that resulted in a pair of free throws, plus another possession for the Eagles, allowing them to escape with the 42-35 win.
