2005: Cedar-Knox to take over electricity needs of several area towns

HARTINGTON—Seven area communities will soon have a new supplier for municipal, retail and residential electricity. In October, Cedar Knox Public Power District will become the energy source for Crofton, Wynot,Belden, Coleridge, Magnet, Wausa and Fordyce.

HARTINGTON — A local group is using an international marketplace to raise funds. The Hartington Community Information Technology Committee hasbeen collecting donated items for the internet auction.

To date, over 500 items have been collected. Funds raised from the auction will go toward the Technology Committee, the Hartington Public Library, the Sr. Citizen’s Center and the Junction Youth Center.

Aug. 31, 2005

HARTINGTON — Msgr. Cyril J. Werner accepted an invitation last week to tour the addition to Cedar Catholic Jr.-Sr. High School that will bear his name. The Msgr. Cyril J. Werner Activity Center honors the man who has given over 50 of his 60 years as a priest to Cedar County Catholic Schools and parishes.

On Aug. 24, Ed Bottolfsen and Trent Becker, of RaDec Construction,escorted Msgr. Werner through the busy job site. This was Werner’s first real look at the project in quite some time.
